How to Use
DOG FRIENDLY FONDANT
Ratio: 56ml water per 250g mix
Method: You will need to use a mixer and mix will appear dry. Do not add extra water, keep mixing for at least 2 mins. Roll out and work on a board lightly dusted with corn flour.
DOG ICING
Piping ratio: 20ml water per 60g mix
Ice 'n' Bake ratio: 15ml water per 30g mix
Method: Combine water and the dog icing mix. Let stand for 1 minute and check consistency. Mix thoroughly again. Slight adjustments may be made by adding a little water or mix. You can colour the icing using mosts reputable powdered, liquid or gel colours available from the supermarket or cake decorating stores.
- Piping: Consistency needs to be as stiff as possible, yet still able to be piped.
- Ice 'n' Bake: Place iced cookies on a cake rack and bake for approximately 20 minutes in a slow oven (100°C on fan bake). No hotter or the icing will brown. May be baked, piped and baked again. Can also be air-dried (takes up to 48 hours).
DOG FRIENDLY FROSTING
Ratio: ~50g Greek yoghurt per 60 mix
Method: In place of water, use Greek yoghurt with the dog icing mix and mix thoroughly. Let stand for a few minutes, check & adjust if needed. Yoghurt water content varies so you are better to commence with less yoghurt, then add icing to it. The dog frosting mixture should be wetter than piping mix.
Once you get the desired consistency, it can be used as mousse, frosting or piped like buttercream.
DOGGY ICE CREAM
Ratio: ~1kg Greek yoghurt per 250g mix
Method: In place of water, use about 1kg Greek yoghurt to 250g of mix. Whip in a mixer, on high, for 3 mins. Pour into small, individual serve containers and freeze. Turn out of containers to serve. Yoghurt water content varies and you may need to adjust the quantity by approximately 15%.
